SUMMER - AIR

AIR… intellect, truth, knowledge, perception, thought…mentality.

Those born as Air Elements have reincarnated to filter intellectualism in their life, to understand that they need not prove everything. Feeling the truth of self, not of proven knowledge, but the truth of who you are in essence - that is the karmic challenge of the Air Element.

ELEMENTAL - SYLPH

An elemental is a mystical creature that is attuned with one of the elements. The elemental being associated with Summer is the sylph or fairy - a spirit composed entirely of the element of Air. These small floating beings work within the gases of the human body and in the nervous system. Like Air Elements they are often eccentric and annoying to others.

‘Sure enough, on the top of a grassy hill there was the Student, lying on her back amongst the long grass, looking towards the sky.

She heard them approach and, without looking, whispered,

“Lie down. Lie still and surrender to your imagination.”

After many long minutes Jonathon thought that he must be dreaming. He was not sure whether the tiny shimmering bodies he saw were high amongst the clouds or were hovering on silent wings just above his face. She again whispered,

“Can you see them?”

“They are the Air Elementals. The sylph has the highest evolution of the Elementals. It exhibits sight, hearing, smell and all of the other senses. They congregate in temples on mountain tops with the Gods, and have taken it upon themselves to guard humans from trouble caused by evil spirits.… The sylphs live for hundreds of years and never seem to grow old.”
